Capstar (nitenpyram) is a fast-acting oral flea treatment for cats that begins killing adult fleas in as little as 30 minutes. Each 11. 4 mg tablet is formulated for cats and kittens 4 weeks of age and older weighing 2–25 pounds. A single dose can kill up to 90% of adult fleas within hours, providing rapid relief from biting adult fleas. Capstar treats only adult fleas; a follow-up preventative product is recommended to control flea eggs and larvae in the environment. If reinfestation occurs, Capstar may be given again as often as once per day.
